Google Docs Activity

In this activity you’ll become acquainted with Google Docs and its capabilities. You'll create a free account (if you don't already have one) and collaborate by editing a shared document. Optionally, you can explore creating your own documents and sharing them with the other participants.

Google Docs Activity Directions:

  1. Read about Google Docs in this wiki, browse the tutorials, and take the Google Docs tour http://www.google.com/google-d-s/tour1.html
  2. Create a free Google Docs account if you don't already have one http://docs.google.com
  3. Find a DE article or two that you’d like to share.
  4. Visit the shared MDE Bibliography (in Google Docs) and add your reference to the list. Please be mindful of the alphabetical order. The doc is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1g7ga21E2mSElYlQItLXYsqXG5PgcFLGormdSdgycoaQ/edit?hl=en&authkey=CJ-H-44K
  5. Create your own Google Doc and share it (optional).
  6. Add to the discussion in the Google Docs Activity Topic in the Discussion Forum by posting the title and link for your document.
  7. Look for other posts in the Google Docs Activity Topic in the Discussion Forum and visit the other participants' documents by clicking the links.
  8. Share ideas you have for using Google Docs by posting them to the Google Docs Activity Topic in the Discussion Forum.
  9. If time permits, create a Google Docs presentation, spreadsheet, form, or drawing, and share the link in the Google Docs Activity Topic in the Discussion Forum.
